FAQ

What is the difference between Coaching, Therapy and Consulting?

Coaching tends to focus on how the present moment can lead us to a brighter future, and engages us in an accountability partnership with a supportive ally, who helps us reach our goal, dream or desire by the use of skillful Socratic methodological questioning.

Therapy enables us to use a variety of modalities to explore how our past is impacting our present, and change our future with the help of processing and integration of experience. Psychotherapists have specifiic training to enable them to address traumatic experience known and unknown to the client. Certified Coach training does not delve into these arenas, and should these types of experiences arise in the coaching process, your coach is likely to suggest you seek out further professional support.

Consultants are experts in their fields, who are in the business of offering their expertise to support better future outcomes for their clients. Most Coaches also have such expertise in a variety of arenas, but it does not come under the auspicious of their Coaching Practice. It is a seperate function of their business.

How is Insight Consulting helpful?

A reading can show us a glimpse of things we are not aware of; confirm things we believe, but do not trust ourselves to know; clarify muddled perceptions and emotions by confirmation or clarification; or offer a better understanding of where our energy is misaligned.

Will I become dependent on Insight Consulting.

In a short time, often one session, most people get the confirmation and understanding needed to confidently go about their way, realizing they have the knowledge and skills they need to trust themselves. Some people continue on, to learn better personal processing skills or transition to coaching as they have clear goals they wish to work on with Nancie. Most repeat clients speak to Nancie usually somewhere between once a year, to twice a month when situations merit.

Nancie is not a therapist, and she works to build capacity and supports independence for her clients.

How can I pay for my sessions?

You can pay via Venmo or Zelle in the US. Internationally based clients may use PayPal for a 5% service fee. You will receive more details on this upon scheduling a session.

How do I connect with Nancie?

After you have scheduled an appointment, you will receive a follow-up message that contains that information. At your appointed time, you may call her via phone, FaceTime, WhatsApp.

At the time of your session please call in. Nancie will be waiting for your call. If you give her a phone number in the notes when you schedule, she will usually message you when she is waiting to connect. If you forget to do this, she will likely email you the first time, and for future sessions text message a minute or so before the session is scheduled to begin.
